The objective is to facilitate innovation and the generation of industrial activity in Catalonia in the field of decarbonisation of the energy model. The innova Energy Tech line is promoted by Avançsa and the Catalan Energy Institute (ICAEN).

The Government has authorized the creation of a funding line for innovation projects to boost the energy transition with 8.3 million euros. This instrument, which will be called the Innova Energy Tech line and is promoted by the Catalan Institute of Energy (ICAEN) and the business promotion and localization company of Catalonia (Avançsa), will work by granting participatory loans to finance business actions that contribute to advancing the transition towards a new cleaner, sustainable and democratic energy model and also to deal with the climate emergency situation.

The objective is to promote the growth of companies located in Catalonia from innovative projects in the field of energy transition, that is to say, related to energy efficiency, the implementation of renewable energies, the storage of energy or sustainable mobility. In this way, the development of each company, in addition to consolidating industrial initiatives in the country, will also contribute to the fulfillment of the objectives set out in the bases of the National Pact for the Energy Transition. This same document identifies as one of its seven axes of action the promotion of energy research and innovation as a vector of efficiency and the creation of business activities.

The Innova Energy Tech line plans to grant participatory loans of between 0.3 and 2 million euros for a period of between 3 and 6 years, with specific variable conditions that will be determined based on the needs of each company alone .bidder Avançsa will manage the line, while ICAEN will provide the budget and participate in the technical evaluation of the projects presented.

The measure is added to the Government's initiatives to advance the energy transition in the industrial sector and deal with the climate emergency situation declared by the Government. Thus, the Renovate the Industry Plan is already underway, aimed at facilitating the replacement of auxiliary equipment in the industry and making the sector more efficient and competitive; the Voucher Program for energy advisory services, so that companies know in depth their energy consumption and the possibilities they have to optimize; and soon specific subsidy lines will be enabled for the industry for the adoption of energy saving and efficiency measures (such as the replacement of equipment and processes with newer and more efficient ones) endowed with 50 million euros .
