The main researcher of the project, aimed at promoting the circular economy, has emphasized that society is still at an "initial moment" in this area, so it is necessary to "awaken interest" from consumers and also from productive models so that the circular economy is progressing and ecological and environmental transition change is encouraged.
The UCLM Faculty of Law at the Ciutat Real Campus hosted the presentation of the Circulecon research project this Thursday, the objective is the achievement of the circular production model for a sustainable economic development that respects the environment and optimizes the use of natural resources, mainly non-renewable ones.
The strategic lines of European politics have placed the concept of the circular economy at the center of the debate and suggest the need to promote the implementation of measures that collaborate in the promotion of economic circularity that cause a change in behavior and production processes that facilitate the sustainability and conservation of goods and products in their life cycle and/or use. The object of the Circulecon research project, granted by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, part of the analysis of the fiscal financial instruments that are currently used for environmental protection and/or conservation purposes to advance proposals for reformulation and legal design of the same that allow the achievement of the circular productive model, the ultimate purpose is deployed within the coordinates of a sustainable economic development that respects the environment and optimizes the use of natural resources - essentially non-renewable.
The formulation of sensible and well-founded proposals on financial and fiscal instruments, which collaborate in the transition of the economic model towards circularity, entails the need to know the concerns, demands and concerns of the productive sectors in this matter, to energize the society and foster the interest of citizens. All of this must allow the concretization of actions by public institutions in a primarily cross-cutting issue such as this.
The main researcher of the Circulecon project and full professor of Financial and Tax Law at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Gemma Patón, emphasized in her presentation that the aim is "promote interest in the circular economy and encourage the adoption of circular economy strategies by all productive sectors”, as well as the institutions adopting measures towards this strategy.
The researcher explained that on this subject, society is still at an "initial moment", so it is necessary to "awaken interest" from consumers and also from productive models so that the circular economy progresses and transitional change is encouraged ecological and environmental.
The event was intended to encourage all the actors involved so that the project can achieve relevant results in line with the circular economy strategy undertaken by the regional government and by higher administrations.
