Grants from the Waste Agency

The Waste Agency has published the two calls it has for subsidizing companies: theimplementation of projects to prevent industrial waste and promote the circular economy.

Who is it aimed at?
Companies or groups of companies that have at least one operating establishment located in Catalonia and associations of companies that have their operating establishment in Catalonia.

Aid for prevention projects, preparation for the reuse and recycling of industrial waste (Waste Agency of Catalonia).

The main purpose is the promotion of the implementation of prevention, preparation for reuse and recycling projects of industrial waste and industrial research and experimental development projects applied to the field of prevention, preparation for reuse and of industrial waste recycling.

Beneficiaries: Companies and groups of companies with production facilities in Catalonia.
amount: Maximum: €120,000 in case of projects that reduce or incorporate recycled material from hazardous waste; €100,000 for non-hazardous waste.
Subcontracting allowed: max. the 50%Deadline for applications: until May 31, 2017.

Aid for projects promoting the circular economy (Waste Agency of Catalonia).

The purpose of the aid is to promote projects to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy in Catalonia, improving the efficiency in the use of material resources and decoupling global economic development from the consumption of resources.

The following projects can be subsidized:
Class A. Implementation projects in the market of new products or services
Class B. Studies to obtain and test prototypes or demonstrative projects of new products or services,

Projects can be about the following categories:
1. Ecodesign of products or services that promotes waste prevention throughout the life cycle.
2. Reuse of products.
3. Return services for used products promoted by the distributor or manufacturer of these products, with the purpose of reusing them, remanufacturing them or recycling them (take-back schemes).
4. Industrial symbiosis that promotes the efficiency of material resources other than water.
5. New applications of recycled materials.
6. New processes or technologies that allow the valorization of waste that is not currently being valorized, or that increase the performance and/or quality of existing third-party waste valorization operations.
7. Landfill mining for material recovery.

Deadline for applications: until June 26, 2017.
